Learning to see your value

Liz joined our Sony Positive Influence programme as a Script Editor, with a vision of one day creating and producing her own television shows. Growing up working class and balancing life as a young secondary carer, she hadn't always believed that future was possible.

Her mentor Grace, Marketing Manager at Sony Pictures, helped change that. Over the course of the programme, Grace put Liz in situations that challenged her comfort, gave her direct feedback on her work, and helped her understand how her voice and experience added value in rooms she'd previously felt locked out of. The training CMN provided gave Grace the context to mentor effectively, understanding where Liz had come from, not just where she wanted to go.
