Creative Mentor Network

We’re working to break the class ceiling in the creative industries to support and celebrate working class talent.

What we do

Creating Real Impact

The creative industries have a class problem. Less than 1 in 5 people working in UK creative sectors comes from a lower socioeconomic background.

Creative Mentor Network builds partnerships that tackle this directly. We work with organisations to develop the people already inside them, equipping managers and leaders with the tools to create more inclusive, more productive, more creative teams. And we connect those organisations with young people from working-class backgrounds who have the talent but haven't had the route in.

Develop your next generation of leaders

Give your staff a structured, meaningful way to grow as managers through mentoring, training, and hands-on leadership experience.

Open doors to talent you won't find elsewhere

Access a pipeline of young creatives from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, bypassing the networks and routes that have always favoured the same people.

Build a culture people don't want to leave

Organisations that invest in inclusion see measurable gains in employee satisfaction, retention, and creative output. We help you build that culture from the inside.

Level the playing field with measurable impact

Support young professionals who need it most, with a programme designed to create real, lasting change in their careers.

Give your team a reason to show up differently

Mentoring is one of the most effective forms of professional development. Your people learn by teaching, and they bring it back to their day job.

Bring genuinely different perspectives into your work

Diverse teams create stronger, more resonant work which tells stories authentically and connects with people in a real way.

100% best training I've ever been through for an initiative like this. I feel tremendously confident about supporting young people from different backgrounds moving forward. I feel incredibly well-versed in barriers facing young people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and am passionate about working to break these barriers down.

The results from the programme exceeded my expectations and I was honoured to be part of it. The programme is well structured, with a high level of support from Creative Mentor Network. It was excellent, very rewarding and worthwhile. Would highly recommend.

I'd heard good things about the programme from peers in the industry, and my experience was as positive as those other stories I'd heard. The structure and oversight of CMN across the programme definitely helped me to become a better and more informed mentor - I've mentored lots before but it has mostly been done on instinct rather than with any formal training. The support CMN offers makes the process so much more helpful. The calibre of mentees was also very good, so the application and interview process is clearly very effective.
