APA Mentoring
Just 16% of workers in the creative industry are from working-class backgrounds. The aim of APA Mentoring is to help give more young people from working class backgrounds the opportunity to “get in” and “get on”, helping close the class gap by helping young creatives and creating change from within the industry.
The programme matches professionals with a mentee looking to progress their creative career, and provide them with the training to mentor effectively whilst learning more about socioeconomic diversity in the creative industries.
Meeting my mentee has been really positive. I've enjoyed seeing her grow and look forward to continuing our relationship. The training was not something I've ever done before so being shown ways to help challenge my thinking and how I approach things has been really beneficial.
